Description
Making the most of the late season Orion time. Even with a 70% moon rising at 1 am we still have about an hour with Orion after the sun is out of the way. This image shows Mt Serman, a high mountain summit in the Mosquito Range of the Rocky Mountains of North America. The 14,043-foot (4,280 m) fourteener is located 6.8 miles (11.0 km) east by south (bearing103Β°) of the City of Leadville, Colorado, United States, on the drainage divide separating Lake Countyfrom Park County. The mountain was named in honor of General William Tecumseh Sherman.
It took a little hike above an unplowed road on an ancient mountain to get to this view... That hike was unexpected and almost made me too late to the party. Thankfully I was able to set up quickly and capture these images before the stars dipped too low.
All of the images are taken from the same location and are the same settings.
